Perrin is completing his dissertation “Patterns of Science: The Development of Social and Environmental Sciences in the International Community.” This project explores efforts to use science to build a peaceful and prosperous world community, and to use international organizations to extend the reach and improve the quality of science. It focuses on a series of projects emanating from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization from the late 1940s until the early 1970s. His Master’s thesis, “Standardizing Wounds: Alexis Carrel and the Scientific Management of Life in WWI,” was published in the British Journal for the History of Science.
